CHIN AUGMENTATION

Non-surgical chin reshaping has enjoyed a boom in popularity over the recent years, with more and more of our patients opting for non-invasive dermal filler solutions as opposed to the more costly, permanent and rigorous surgical options.

A number of our patients come to us to add definition to a poorly defined, under projected chin, asking for more width, more length or a more angular chin. A strong chin can also help add definition and balance to the other facial features.

For patients who desire a non-surgical solution or are interested in seeing potential results before undergoing surgery, chin augmentation with dermal filler is an excellent option and, even with a very modest amount of filler, the chin can make a noticeable difference to the face as a whole.

What does the procedure involve?

-

Prior the treatment

Topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15 minutes prior the treatment to make the area numb and virtually eliminate any discomfort.

-

The Procedure

Once the area has been numbed, dermal filler is injected carefully into your chin to with a small needle.

We will then gently build this product to a shape and fullness that you are hoping to achieve. You will be given a mirror to hold to enable you to see the results as we complete the treatment.

The results are immediate and last between 9-12 months, depending on your body’s natural metabolic rate and your own lifestyle. As the results are relatively temporary in comparison to surgery, adjustments can be made to suit your needs over time.

-

Post treatment

Some minor swelling is often expected, which should completely subside within one to two days. A small percentage of patients will also develop very minor bruising that can be covered with makeup while it heals. We often suggest that, as with any filler treatment, you should avoid exercise for twenty-four hours after the procedure to minimize swelling. Otherwise, patients can resume work and normal activities.
